Meta is seeking an experienced attorney to serve as Associate General Counsel, leading our Legal support for content, safety, and integrity regulations in EMEA. You will play an instrumental role in shaping Meta’s compliance strategy, partnering with product, engineering, policy, operations, and business teams to identify and mitigate legal risk and respond to an evolving legal landscape. The role requires strategic, big-picture thinking and an appetite for complex, cutting‑edge challenges. Required Skills
Associate General Counsel - Integrity Regulatory Readiness Responsibilities
- Develop and manage Meta’s response to content and other integrity regulation, primarily in the UK and Europe, including serving as the Legal lead devising our readiness and compliance strategies and driving complex, cross‑functional initiatives
- Lead in-depth legal analysis on relevant laws and Codes and counsel internal teams on legal requirements and compliance issues
- Support centralized management and governance of integrity regulatory readiness and compliance in EMEA, building consensus with stakeholders, developing and maintaining relationships with our Legal and cross‑functional partners, and driving efficient decision‑making
- Develop and communicate (including to leadership audiences) thoughtful, pragmatic approaches to managing legal risks associated with content, safety, and integrity regulation
- Function as a subject‑matter expert on content, safety, and integrity regulation and related legal matters in EMEA
- Supervise and direct outside counsel on multiple legal matters
Minimum Qualifications
- Meta requires all employed attorneys to have a law degree or equivalent certificate to permit the practice of law and be appropriately licensed and authorized to practice law for the company in their assigned work location. Unless prohibited under local law, an attorney must hold a current practicing certificate (including where required from the relevant authority in the jurisdiction of the assigned work location) or the local law equivalent bar registration or license as may be applicable
- EU or UK qualified lawyer with 8+ years PQE in a law firm or in‑house (permitted to practice in relevant jurisdiction)
- Experience advising on compliance with Internet laws and regulation, including in emerging areas and content‑related legislation
- Experience in explaining complex technologies in concise and accessible ways to a variety of internal and external stakeholders
- Experience in managing large, complex projects and stakeholders from across teams and functions
- Adept at delivering practical advice under pressure
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with the Digital Services Act, the UK Online Safety Act, or similar regulatory frameworks
