Department : Portfolio Strategy Credit & Analytics Reports to : Director ¿ PSCA Are you passionate about data-driven decision making and keen to develop your career in credit analytics? We¿re looking for an Associate to join our Portfolio Strategy Credit & Analytics team. This is an exciting opportunity to support the monitoring, analysis, and pricing of mortgage products, working alongside senior colleagues and cross-functional teams to deliver robust insights and drive continuous improvement.

What you’ll do:
  • Monitor and analyse the credit quality and performance of our mortgage portfolio, focusing on affordability, underwriting, and pricing policies.
  • Support the development and enhancement of product pricing models to forecast customer behaviour and product economics.
  • Analyse large mortgage datasets to identify trends, assess mandates, and prepare materials for risk and pricing committees.
  • Prepare and maintain portfolio dashboards, KPI packs, and ad hoc analytics reports, including pricing and profitability analysis.
  • Assist in reviewing and documenting mortgage affordability frameworks, customer behaviour models, and pricing strategies.
  • Participate in validation and quality assurance of model outputs, providing recommendations to improve pricing accuracy.
  • Collaborate with colleagues across Products, Risk, Finance, and Regulatory Reporting to ensure analytics and pricing are aligned and actionable.
  • Communicate analysis and findings clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Support regulatory submissions and quarterly reporting, ensuring analytics and pricing are well‑evidenced.
  • Maintain up-to-date procedural documents and support a strong risk‑awareness mindset.
What we’re looking for:
  • Experience in financial or credit risk analysis, ideally within the UK mortgage market.
  • Advanced proficiency in Excel and VBA for financial modelling, analytics, and reporting.
  • Strong working knowledge of SQL and Python for data analysis, automation, and model development.
  • Ability to analyse large datasets and support credit policy, pricing strategy, risk forecasting, and performance monitoring.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to distil complex analytics into clear insights.
  • Demonstrable risk awareness and attention to detail.
  • Collaborative approach and willingness to learn from senior colleagues.
  • Degree level qualification required; postgraduate or professional qualification desirable.
