Job summary

A Scottish cultural charity is looking for an Assistant Technician to join their Arts & Music team. You will support the delivery of concerts and events and assist with technical maintenance in a vibrant venue. The ideal candidate will have technical experience and be a proactive team player. What you need to know

Hours: 28 hours per week.

Contract type: Permanent

Pay details: The listed salary is for a full-time role. If you\'re applying for a part-time or bank job, we will calculate your pay on a pro-rata basis.

Location: At City Halls & Old Fruitmarket with excellent public transport links and paid parking nearby.

What you\'ll do

As an Assistant Technician you\'ll be part of an established team, reporting to the Senior Technician. You\'ll play an essential role in the delivery of concerts and events taking place in City Halls and Old Fruitmarket.

Who you are

  • Demonstrable experience in a technical role in an arts and culture venue.
  • Ability to operate sound, lighting and multimedia systems for live event delivery.
  • Ability to rig, de-rig, set up and dismantle sound, lighting and AV equipment under instruction, ensuring required standards.
  • Ability to assist with technical maintenance, including Portable Appliance Testing.
  • Ability to provide technical assistance to colleagues and clients to ensure the effective and efficient delivery of Glasgow Life events and services, ensuring that tasks are completed to deadlines.
  • Ability to work safely at heights, applying Health & Safety regulations.
  • Ability to work as part of a team while showing initiative, proactivity and effective time management.
  • Experience in lifting, manual handling, assessing equipment needs and safe use.
  • Experience using power and hand tools.
