Job summary

Places for People, through Places Developments, is hiring an Assistant Site Manager to support delivery of a residential development in Birmingham. You will work with the Site Manager and project team to coordinate day-to-day site activity, ensuring safety, quality and programme adherence.

This hands-on role offers training in site management, exposure to NHBC standards, and the chance to contribute to high-quality homes while maintaining a positive site culture.

Qualifications

• Experience managing construction activity on residential sites.
• CSCS supervisor accreditation.
• SMSTS qualification.
• Full, clean UK driving licence.
• First Aid certificate.
• Scaffold Inspection qualification.
• Knowledge of NHBC standards and building control.
• Experience in housebuilding preferred.

Responsibilities

• Support the Site Manager with day-to-day construction activity to match programme and budget.
• Promote safe working practices and maintain professional site culture.
• Monitor quality and ensure Build Stage Inspections are followed.
• Conduct health and safety inductions for contractors and visitors.
• Plan and coordinate work packages, site activities and logistics.
• Work with contractors, NHBC and stakeholders to keep progress on track.
• Deputise for the Site Manager and maintain site management and discipline.
• Liaise with homeowners and coordinate snagging completion.
