We are now seeking a dedicated, skilled, and proactive Assistant Site Manager to join our team. • Take ownership of the planning, coordination, and delivery of routine and reactive maintenance, leading on liaison with contractors, suppliers, and service providers to ensure work is completed safely, efficiently, and to a high standard.
  • Lead, supervise, and coordinate site staff in the absence of the Site Manager, setting clear expectations and ensuring full compliance with Health & Safety legislation, policies, and best practice.
  • Take a lead role in cleaning management, including overseeing contractors, conducting audits, addressing performance issues, and coordinating emergency cleaning as required.
  • Lead and oversee inspections and surveys of the grounds, trees, playing fields, and outdoor facilities (including play equipment), ensuring all areas are safe, compliant, and well maintained.
  • Lead on all operational planning and site coordination for school events, taking full responsibility for site readiness, health and safety, and logistical arrangements.
  • Take responsibility for waste management operations and issues and lead on the maintenance, servicing, and repair of all school vehicles.
  • Deputise fully for the Site Manager in relation to Health & Safety, taking charge of daily safety checks, overseeing risk assessments, ensuring site security, and responding effectively to incidents or emergencies.
  • Ensure accurate, timely, and compliant record-keeping for maintenance, inspections, audits, and statutory checks.
  • Carry out any additional duties as directed by the School Business Manager, appropriate to the level of responsibility of the role.
The Ideal Candidate Will
  • Have experience in premises management or maintenance, ideally within a school, care, or facilities environment.
  • Demonstrate strong organisational, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  • Be able to work independently and as part of a team, taking initiative where needed.
