Here at Vertu Mercedes Benz of Reading, we have a great opportunity for an Assistant Service Manager to join the team with a £40,000 basic salary and OTE of £50,000.

Our Aftersales Team is 20+ strong, comprising skilled technicians, service advisors, workshop control, and drivers — all dedicated to delivering service excellence and complete customer satisfaction.

The dealership has seen significant investment in recent years, with a redesigned service reception, a three-lane undercover drive-thru drop-off area, a dedicated smart repair bay, and a full valet facility. Most recently, a £100,000 investment expanded our site to include the smart brand, broadening our offering and enhancing our customer experience even further.

This is a great opportunity to join our highly successful Aftersales department and develop toward a Service/Aftersales Manager role in the future.

You’ll support the Aftersales Manager in the daily running of the department, specifically front-of-house operations. You’ll oversee work planning, resource management, and team performance — including coaching, developing, and motivating colleagues to achieve their best.

You’ll also take ownership of customer concerns, ensuring they're resolved efficiently and recorded accurately in both Mercedes-Benz and Vertu systems. The role also involves driving additional sales via VHC processes and managing the Mercedes-Benz Breakdown Service.

Our ideal candidate will have previous managerial experience, either within a similar role or having already worked as a Service Manager. This is an excellent opportunity to demonstrate your proven track record of performance. You will have exceptional communication skills and a full, valid UK driving license.
