A leading children's hospital in London seeks an Assistant Service Manager to provide strong leadership to administrative teams, ensuring operational efficiency and adherence to the Trust’s objectives. The role involves collaborating with various managers, conducting performance appraisals, and supporting clinical governance. Provide strong, professional leadership to the administrative teams within their specialties. Collaborate with the Service/Operational Manager, other Assistant Service Managers, and clinical leads to ensure cohesive management.
Engage all staff in developing, delivering, and sustaining innovative management systems to maximize operational efficiency within the division.
Ensure staff are aware of and working towards the Trust’s vision, specific objectives, and operational targets, including the 18-week target and Better Values projects.
Implement effective processes to monitor performance and support RTT validators regarding 18-week targets and pathways.
Conduct performance appraisals as per Trust policy, fostering an environment of continuous improvement.
Manage A&C staff to anticipate shortages and minimize their impact on service delivery.
Support clinical governance and safety standards across Neurosciences services.
Provide accurate outpatient waiting time data to service managers.
Coordinate extra outpatient clinics and theatre lists by liaising with clinical teams, outpatient staff, and diagnostic services.
Assist in producing monthly specialty-specific service reports and attend monthly specialty reviews and meetings, including minuting proceedings.
