Job summary

Hoar Cross Hall Ltd is launching a brand-new 60-cover Mediterranean à la carte restaurant in Staffordshire. We seek an experienced Assistant Restaurant Manager to drive the opening, and to lead the team in delivering warm, knowledgeable, polished service from day one.

You will work closely with the Restaurant Manager to establish service standards at a Two AA Rosette level and to create memorable guest experiences while managing costs and driving revenue.

Qualifications

• Must have previous restaurant supervisory or management experience
• Must have a genuine passion for food, wine and exceptional hospitality
• Must have an appreciation for Mediterranean cuisine and dining
• Must have experience delivering high standards of restaurant service
• Must have excellent leadership skills and the ability to motivate and develop a team
• Must have the confidence interacting with guests and building rapport
• Must have excellent attention to detail
• Must have good commercial awareness, including labour, stock, waste and revenue
• Must have the ability to remain calm and organised during busy services
• Must have a proactive approach – you’ll spot what needs doing
• Must have a desire to continuously improve both the guest experience and team performance
• Experience within a Two AA Rosette or comparable fine-dining environment would be highly desirable

Responsibilities

• Supporting the successful opening of our new Mediterranean restaurant
• Leading the restaurant team during day-to-day service
• Delivering and maintaining service standards appropriate to a minimum Two AA Rosette level
• Creating a warm, engaging and memorable experience for every guest
• Being highly visible on the restaurant floor, personally welcoming and saying farewell to guests
• Leading pre-service briefings and ensuring the team is prepared for VIPs, special occasions and daily specials
• Recruiting, inducting, training and developing team members
• Coaching the team on menu knowledge, service standards and confident upselling
• Supporting performance reviews, probation meetings and ongoing development plans
• Working closely with the kitchen and wider F&B team to continuously improve the guest experience
• Responding to guest feedback and resolving any concerns professionally
• Supporting stock takes, forecasting, budgets and sales reporting
• Monitoring payroll, stock, waste and operational costs
• Identifying opportunities to increase revenue and profitability
• Maintaining excellent standards of cleanliness, food hygiene and Health & Safety
• Supporting other Food & Beverage areas when required
