A leading engineering firm in the UK is seeking a Principal Designer to join their Safety Management Team. The successful candidate will provide CDM Safety Management services and assist in various project sectors, including residential and healthcare. With a salary range of £42,600 to £64,000, this position involves collaborating within a dynamic, flexible work environment. Applicants should possess NEBOSH qualifications and experience in relevant construction sectors. A company car and additional benefits will be provided.
To be a member of the TCE Safety Management Team, principally involved in the provision of CDM Safety Management services under the Construction (Design and Management) Regulations 2015 acting in the role of Principal Designer and Client CDM Adviser, and the provision of General H&S Safety Management services. Project sectors include but are not limited to: Residential, Healthcare, Local and Central Government, Defence, Transport, Environmental, Commercial and Education.
Substantial experience of working as a Principal Designer and Client CDM Adviser under the CDM 2015 Regulations is essential. Significant experience of working as a General H&S Adviser under UK H&S Legislation is essential. Demonstrable experience and ability in relevant sectors across the construction industry - particularly the ones TCE is strong in (detailed in this job specification) is essential. Demonstrable experience of undertaking Construction Site Health and Safety Inspections and Advice is essential. Demonstrable experience of delivering CDM and General H&S training is desirable. Experience of line management is desirable.
Demonstrable knowledge and experience of CDM 2015. Demonstrable knowledge and experience of Construction Health and Safety Management. Demonstrable knowledge and experience of Occupational Health and Safety Management. Experience of working within the Defence Sector is advantageous, but not essential. Holder of a full, clean driving licence and having access to a suitable vehicle (which will be made available for use at work, and which possess the requisite business use insurance) is essential.
Be professionally qualified to NEBOSH or equivalent standards. As a minimum have successfully completed the NEBOSH National General Certificate in Occupational Safety and Health or the National Certificate in Construction Health and Safety. Hold appropriate professional memberships of, among others; IOSH, APS, CIOB, IIRSM, IRM and IRSM. As a minimum be a Chartered Member of IOSH (CMIOSH) and ideally an Incorporated Member of the APS (IMaPS). Able to evidence undertaking Continuing Professional Development (CPD) and maintenance of skills.
