Woodbank Surgery is seeking an Assistant Practice Manager to help oversee day-to-day operations of the GP practice, deputise for the Practice Manager, and lead staff development and wellbeing.

Job description

This is an assistant practice manager post at Woodbank Surgery, a GP practice serving over 7,300 patients. The role supports day-to-day operations, deputises for the Practice Manager and helps lead staff, quality improvement and service development. It is a senior leadership post working alongside the Practice Manager and Partners, with workforce planning and CQC compliance among its areas. Previous management experience in primary care is essential.

What the job involves

• Support the day-to-day operational management of the practice
• Deputise for the Practice Manager when required
• Assist with the management, development and wellbeing of practice staff
• Support recruitment, induction, training and performance management
• Ensure compliance with CQC standards, NHS requirements and practice policies
• Assist with patient complaints, feedback and service improvement
• Monitor practice performance against targets and contractual requirements
• Support quality improvement projects and service developments
• Work with Partners and senior staff to implement strategic objectives
• Assist with workforce planning and rota management
• Ensure effective use of resources and efficient practice operations
• Maintain high standards of patient service, governance and confidentiality

What’s required
