Job summary

St Austell Brewery is seeking an Assistant Manager for an on-site role at our venue in Lyme Regis. You will support the General Manager in day-to-day operations, lead front-of-house service, and coordinate staff shifts to ensure a smooth guest experience.

You will develop the team, manage stock and safety standards, and help drive sales and profitability while maintaining a welcoming atmosphere for guests and colleagues. Flexible availability, including evenings and weekends, is preferred.

Qualifications

• Experience in hospitality or retail supervision, with skills in team leadership, shift management, and staff coordination.
• Strong customer service and communication skills, with the ability to build rapport with guests and support a positive team culture.
• Operational skills including basic cash handling, stock control, and an understanding of food and drink service standards.
• Knowledge of health, safety, and hygiene best practices within a hospitality environment.
• Ability to work flexibly, including evenings, weekends, and busy seasonal periods.
• Proactive problem-solving skills and the ability to remain calm under pressure.
• Previous experience in a pub, bar, restaurant, or hotel environment is highly beneficial.
• Formal hospitality or management training, or equivalent experience, is an advantage but not essential.]
