Job summary

Starbucks in the United Kingdom is seeking an Assistant Manager to lead a high-performing team, support day-to-day store operations in the Store Manager’s absence, and ensure consistently excellent customer experiences in a fast-paced environment.

You will coach and develop colleagues, assist with rota planning and budgets, maintain store standards, and strive to maximise promotions while upholding health, safety and food safety requirements.

Qualifications

• Previous management experience is preferred, but not essential.
• Experience leading or supervising a team within hospitality, retail, or a customer-focused environment.
• Confident and approachable leader who can motivate, coach, and bring out the best in others.
• Strong communication and organisational skills with the ability to manage competing priorities.

Responsibilities

• Lead and support the team as second-in-command, delegating tasks and creating a positive working environment.
• Coach, develop, and inspire team members through guidance, feedback, and mentoring.
• Drive operational success by supporting rota planning in line with budgets and labour targets.
• Recognise and celebrate success by acknowledging individual and team achievements.
• Take ownership of store operations in the Store Manager's absence.
• Deliver commercial results by managing stock, inventory control, and reporting.
• Maintain exceptional store standards for merchandising, availability, presentation and food safety.
• Champion safety and compliance by following Health and Safety, Food Safety, hygiene and cash-handling procedures.
