Job summary

Five Guys UK is looking for an Assistant Manager to lead from the front, coach shifts, and drive great burgers and service. You’ll support the General Manager to deliver store results and a memorable guest experience.

You’ll develop people, manage P&L on a busy high‑volume site, maintain 5‑star hygiene, and lead with our values. Flexible shifts and long‑term growth opportunities are offered.

Qualifications

• Experience: Ideally, 1–2 years of management experience in a high-volume hospitality or QSR environment.
• Customer focus: obsessed with guest experience, proven appreciation for great service and satisfaction scores.
• Financial responsibility: experience with P&L management, labour costs and controlled stock.
• Leadership: ability to coach, develop and motivate a team.
• Operational excellence: solid understanding of food safety, health & safety, hygiene standards.
• Flexibility: able to work evenings, weekends and holidays.

Responsibilities

• Lead and coach Shift Managers and Crew on the line and dining area to deliver great burgers and customer service.
• Support the General Manager in achieving store results and a memorable Five Guys experience for guests.
• Create a positive working environment aligned with Five Guys values: Competitive, Enthusiastic, Family, Get It Done, Integrity.
• Ensure every customer is delighted with their order and resolve complaints promptly and openly.
• Oversee each shift to run smoothly and think about long-term plans and growth.
• Own the P&L for the shift, driving sales while controlling costs.
• Spot and develop talent to maintain a strong pipeline for the team.
