Job summary

Five Guys is recruiting an Assistant Manager for the UK to lead Shift Managers and Crew, ensuring outstanding customer service and high-volume performance. You will work closely with the General Manager to drive store results and deliver amazing burgers and fries.

You will develop people, manage a robust P&L, and uphold our values while creating an energetic, guest-focused environment on shift.

Qualifications

• Experience: 1–2 years of management in a high‑volume hospitality or QSR environment.
• Customer satisfaction focus with proven Mystery Shopper results and positive reviews.
• Financial responsibility with P&L, labour costs and inventory/waste management.
• Leadership: proven ability to lead, coach and motivate a team.
• Operational excellence: knowledge of Food Safety, Health & Safety and hygiene ratings.
• Flexibility to work evenings, weekends and holidays.

Responsibilities

• Lead Shift Managers and Crew on the line and dining area.
• Support the General Manager to deliver perfect burgers and fries, store results and a great customer experience.
• Create an awesome working environment aligned with our Values.
• Ensure every customer is delighted and handle complaints openly.
• Ensure smooth shift operations with long-term planning.
• Own the P&L, drive sales and control costs.
