Role
Position: Deputy Manager
Location: Selby
Salary: £37,154 (+ £80 per sleep-ins + overtime)
Hours: 40 hours per week including weekends. Deputies also cover on-call on weekends on a rota basis. The standard shift pattern is split over two long days, with a sleep-in in between, averaging 1–2 sleep-ins per week. The home is a beautiful 4-bedroom home with 1 established child.
Responsibilities
- Support the Registered Home Manager in the day-to-day running of the home and provide cover in their absence.
- Lead, motivate and support the team to deliver safe, consistent, and therapeutic care.
- Be a role model for trauma-informed practice, building strong relationships with young people.
- Support care planning – contribute to assessments, reviews, and the implementation of personalised care plans.
- Safeguard children and young people by ensuring all policies, risk assessments, and procedures are followed.
- Drive quality and compliance, completing audits, checks, and contributing to inspections (e.g. Ofsted).
- Coach and develop staff through supervisions, mentoring, and on-the-job support.
- Manage rotas and staffing levels to ensure consistent and safe care is always in place.
- Work directly with children – offering support, stability, and positive role modelling.
- Promote a safe, loving, and nurturing home environment where children can heal and thrive.

- A driver – full UK driving licence essential to use the home’s vehicle for school runs, appointments and activities.
- Safe to work with children – enhanced DBS check with child barred list required.
