Job summary

St Austell Brewery is seeking an experienced hospitality leader for the Port William pub. You will motivate a team, deliver exceptional guest experiences, and step in for the General Manager when needed.

You will maintain high standards, manage cash and admin, and ensure health and safety compliance while supporting Front and Back of House during peak times.

Qualifications

• Experience leading a team to deliver high standards of guest service.
• Ability to motivate and develop staff while managing peak times.
• Strong focus on health, safety and compliance in a hospitality setting.
• Proven track record of delivering consistent service and quality food offerings.

Responsibilities

• Lead and motivate the pub team, stepping in for the General Manager when required.
• Create a warm welcome for guests and ensure first impressions delight.
• Monitor customer feedback and drive improvements while maintaining service standards.
• Oversee front and back of house during busy periods and support the Kitchen Team.
• Maintain accurate admin and cash handling processes and ensure smooth operations during GM absence.

This exciting role will see you work in an inspiring part of the world, motivating a team of passionate people while supporting and occasionally stepping in for the General Manager.

About You

• Taking the helm when the General Manager is away, you motivate team members to deliver their best and ensure everything is running smoothly and efficiently.
• Creating a warm welcome to guests comes naturally to you, making every first impression count to ensure experiences delight from the get-go.
• Keeping a watchful eye over customer feedback means your team is always adapting to maintain high standards and improve where necessary.
• You go above and beyond to ensure a consistently high level of service, supporting the full team including Front and Back of House during peak times.
• You oversee the consistent production of a quality food offering and recognise the importance of the Kitchen Team.
• Having a wealth of experience in a similar role means you are able to recognise when team members need help and you’ll support where needed.
• A keen eye for detail means you keep all admin and cash management systems ticking along as they should, taking responsibility when the General Manager is away.
• You know health and safety regulations like the back of your hand.
• Team members see you as an inspiring role model and know they can depend on you for support and development.
• You take pride and responsibility for your own development, with an eye towards becoming a General Manager one day.
