About Tipton Green College

Tipton Green College is an independent specialist day school providing high‑quality education for boys and girls. Based in Tipton, the college meets the diverse needs of pupils aged 11–19 with Special Education Needs and Disabilities (SEND) and Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs. Our broad but balanced curriculum is specifically designed to meet the unique learning styles and needs of each student. With bespoke learning plans and a supportive therapeutic environment, we are committed to ensuring every child receives the support they require to succeed.

Job Summary

As an Assistant Headteacher you will aim to achieve the highest possible standards and outcomes for the pupils as a member of the senior management team. You will be responsible for the implementation of effective policies and procedures that support the high standards of education, and you will work to assist the Head Teacher in the day‑to‑day running of the school.

Qualifications
  • QTS or QTLS qualification
  • Similar SLT experience in an SEN environment
  • Up‑to‑date OFSTED knowledge and familiarity with the SEN education sector and desired outcomes
  • Up‑to‑date safeguarding and child protection qualifications/knowledge and experience
Ideal Candidate
  • Strategically oversee the school's resources to support the achievement of educational objectives and priorities effectively and efficiently
  • Collaborate with the head teacher to clearly articulate, disseminate, ensure understanding of, and effectively implement the school's vision among all stakeholders
  • Prioritise pupil achievement, safety, and well‑being as the core focus of all school activities
  • Foster a culture of challenge and support to empower every student to succeed and actively engage in their learning journey
  • Articulate and uphold high expectations by setting ambitious targets for the entire school community
