A UK food business is seeking an Assistant Farm Manager to oversee livestock welfare and site maintenance at their Northfield Farm in England. Responsibilities include maintaining biosecurity, supervising staff, and ensuring compliance with health standards. Benefits include a competitive salary of £32,925.12, up to 38 days holiday, and various lifestyle perks in a supportive working environment.
As an inclusive, forward‑thinking business, we take pride in our approach to investing in our farm management across Avara Foods and are looking for a highly competent and motivated Assistant Farm Manager to join our team, based at our Northfield Farm site. The role is farm based, so you will be working in a farming environment which can be noisy. Our farms are modern, and hygiene is of utmost importance. What will you be doing as an Assistant Farm Manager at Avara? As an Assistant Farm Manager, you'll work closely with the farm management team, managing on a day‑to‑day basis, a modern company broiler farm. The main responsibility of an Assistant Farm Manager is for the wellbeing and performance of the livestock, although this will extend, by definition, to the upkeep and appearance of the whole site.
You may not have heard of us, but there's a good chance you've enjoyed our products. Avara Foods is one of the UK's leading food businesses, supplying chicken and turkey to the country's major supermarkets and well‑known restaurants. We own and manage our entire supply chain, from farms to factory and all the way to the customer door – meaning we have careers that cover a whole range of functions. We have major processing sites across England and Wales, and an agricultural network of over 350 farms, spanning from North Yorkshire to the South Coast and Wales.
As an Assistant Farm Manager, you will enjoy a secure, supportive, and progressive working environment, where your contribution and achievements will be recognised and rewarded. We offer comprehensive training as well as continuous development as you build your long‑term career with us.
