Hybrid Facilities Management Assistant Role
  • Hybrid role - 4 days site based and 1 day per week from home
  • Regular travel required between Maidstone, Ashford, and Canterbury

ISS, one of the UK's leading Facilities Management providers, is seeking a proactive Assistant Facilities Manager to oversee daily FM services (Cleaning, Engineering, Security, etc.) across three government sites in Kent: Ashford, Maidstone, and Canterbury.

The sites include government offices, research laboratories, and storage areas, presenting a diverse Facilities challenge to ensure smooth operations.

You will manage three Facilities Assistants across different sites, supporting their daily tasks and ensuring service quality.

This role involves building strong relationships with the end client to ensure customer satisfaction and effective communication.

As Assistant FM, you will deliver daily services, report to the Regional FM, and support leadership development.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Facilities professional aiming to progress into leadership within a market-leading organization serving a major Government client.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Maintaining a safe, secure environment and ensuring compliance with health and safety legislation
  • Rostering Engineering, Cleaning, and Facility Placemakers to meet contractual requirements, covering sickness and planned absences
  • Completing and reviewing documents such as audits, COSHH, H&S, and SOPs
  • Recruiting, training, and developing frontline staff
  • Delivering services responsibly and efficiently
  • Handling customer queries and complaints through the appropriate procedures
  • Completing periodic reports and administrative tasks on time
  • Controlling costs within budgets, including materials, consumables, and labor
  • Identifying additional revenue opportunities and margin improvements
  • Supervising staff through effective management, including 1-2-1s

We are looking for candidates with:

  • Experience in FM, such as coordinating, administering, or supervising
  • Line management experience is highly desirable
  • Basic understanding of Technical/Hard FM is preferred
