Overview

Are you an aspiring Educational Psychologist? We have an exciting opportunity to work with the developing Educational Psychology team in Scarborough. The role is to assist the Educational Psychology Service in delivering a wide range of activities and support to children and young people in schools and settings, under the supervision of experienced Educational Psychologists. North Yorkshire Council, Children and Young People’s Service, Educational Psychology Service, are seeking candidates with a degree in Psychology, who are seeking experience with which to apply for a Doctorate in Child and Educational Psychology.

We are looking for candidates who:

  • Are creative, forward thinking, optimistic, reliable, energetic and reflective
  • Have a degree in Psychology (2:1 or above) or have completed an approved conversion course or a Master’s degree and be eligible for Graduate Basis for Chartered Membership (GBC) with the British Psychological Society (BPS)
  • Have experience of varied and relevant work with children, young people and their families
  • Are committed to making a difference to the lives of Children and young people in North Yorkshire and are passionate about the local area they work in
  • Will be applying for the Doctorate in Educational Psychology professional training to become a fully qualified EP

A full driver’s licence is preferred due to travel around the county being required.
