A leading educational institution is seeking a part-time Assistant Administrator to join the Clinical Liaison Team at the Faculty of Health in Plymouth. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing and administering clinical placements, maintaining the digital learning environment, and liaising with clinic staff. Strong organizational skills and familiarity with Microsoft Excel are required. This role offers flexible working with the expectation of being on site two days a week, and is fixed-term until September 2027.

Job description

This is an exciting opportunity for an administrator to join the Clinical Liaison Team at the Faculty of Health to cover a secondment.

About the role

The Clinical Liaison Team is responsible for providing comprehensive management and administration of the medical and dental schools' clinical placements. We are currently seeking to appoint an individual to take up the post of Assistant Administrator (Dental).

This position is not eligible for Skilled Worker visa sponsorship. The successful candidate must hold the legal right to work in the UK.

You will:
  • Be part of a team of five staff
  • Be expected to liaise with our clinic staff in addition to colleagues in partner organisations about placements
  • Maintain the student digital learning environment.

You will support the Bachelor of Dental Surgery (BDS) and Dental Therapy and Hygiene (DTH) programmes with administration of clinical supervision and Specialist Care Visits.

For this role, you will need to be on site 2 days a week. Although we can accommodate working from home for this role, flexibility to be on‑site will be expected due to business needs.

The post will be located at our North Campus in the John Bull Building, Plymouth Science Park, Derriford, Plymouth, PL6 8BU. You will be expected to work in the John Bull Building for most of the time, however we do offer informal hybrid working arrangements.

This is a part‑time position working 18.5 hours per week on a fixed‑term basis until September 2027. The most recent post‑holders have worked Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday and our preference would be to continue the same days.

What we’re looking for:
You will:
  • Be a highly motivated, well organised individual, who has experience of office administration
  • Have a good working knowledge of Microsoft packages (especially Excel). You will be an effective communicator who can work effectively as part of a team
  • Need to have a meticulous attention to detail, be accurate and work to set deadlines
  • Need to be confident handling data.
