The Market Insights team is a global investment strategy group focused on macroeconomic issues that impact financial markets. The team formulates and communicates market and economic insights to a wide range of clients, the media and internal partners on behalf of the global J.P. Morgan Asset Management business. Led globally by Dr. David Kelly and in EMEA by Karen Ward, the team has strategists and market analysts based in New York, London, Hong Kong, Shanghai, Milan, Frankfurt, Paris, Melbourne, Tokyo and other locations.

The team delivers its views via the Market Insights Programme, a comprehensive offering to clients including the flagship Guide to the Markets chart pack, roadshows and webcasts as well as other regular programmes that are currently delivered to clients in more than 30 countries around the world.

The Market Insights team’s most important goal is to help investors make better, more informed investment decisions. We pride ourselves on communicating clearly, even when discussing very complex topics and we anchor our analysis in charts and data.

Role Summary

This role represents an exciting opportunity for you to play an important role in one of Asset Management’s flagship teams. The role will suit someone who is keen to immerse themselves in an intellectually stimulating environment where global economics and politics and the implications for asset markets are at the forefront of what we do.

The candidate will work with market strategists assisting with research and data analysis, helping to analyze the global economy and markets to produce content for publications, presentations and webcasts. The candidate must have the initiative to assume responsibility for tasks and the skills to execute these tasks independently with tremendous attention to detail.

The candidate we are seeking has a deep interest in economics and markets and an eagerness to learn. They must be very resourceful in sourcing and analysing economic or market data to contribute toward the team’s new content and research. An ability and desire to develop presentation skills over time is also desirable.

Job Responsibilities

• Participate in the production of regular client‑facing materials including the Guide to the Markets, the Weekly Brief, On the Minds of Investors research papers and the Monthly Market Review.
• Create presentations that will be used in client and internal discussions.
• Respond in a timely fashion to questions and requests from strategists and from internal clients such as investment specialists and the sales force.
• Help to educate internal partners on economic and market issues with a particular focus on how to use available Market Insights resources.
• Conduct research related to equity, fixed income, alternative asset classes and the global economy using data platforms and external research sources.
• This role will work especially closely with the EMEA Chief Market Strategist preparing presentations, conducting economic analysis and responding to data queries.

Required Qualifications, Capabilities, and Skills

• A strong academic background with a university degree ideally in economics, finance or a similarly technical subject. Progress towards CFA or similar qualifications is a plus.
• 1–2 years of work experience in a similar or related field.
• Fluency in English is required; ability to speak other languages is a plus.
• Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook.
• Impeccable attention to detail בב
• Knowledge of Python (or other coding languages) is strongly preferred.
• Familiarity with Bloomberg LSEG Workspace / Datastream or other market data services is a plus.
• Superb written and verbal communication skills as well as the ability to effectively convey complex ideas withionario and clarity.
