Assessor/Trainer in Roofing

We are seeking a full‑time Assessor/Trainer in Roofing to support and develop vocational training programs for both flat and pitched roofing. The role involves managing a caseload of students, ensuring timely completion of apprenticeships, and delivering high‑quality teaching and assessment.

Aims of Job / Job Purpose
  • Train, assess and support roofing vocational training programs for both flat and pitched roofs.
  • Manage a caseload of students throughout their period of study.
  • Ensure timely completion of apprenticeships, adult and other learners.
Key Accountabilities and Responsibilities
  • Work with students to assess knowledge and performance against College and/or employer standards.
  • Collaborate with college staff to develop and deliver flexible programmes that meet identified needs.
  • Assist in the monitoring, review and evaluation of provision in line with the College's Quality Assurance framework.
  • Undertake enrolment, registration and, if required, basic skills screening of learners.
  • Support marketing and promotion of college programmes.
  • Act as the internal verifier when required, including training, development and support of learners.
  • Complete detailed records of students' achievements.
  • Manage a caseload of students throughout the duration of their course (caseloads determined by the divisional director).
    Report progress, achievement and success to the assistant director on a regular basis.
  • Liaise with exam administrators to ensure dates and processing requirements are met.
  • Attend regular standardisation meetings in accordance with the college's quality assurance processes.
