Aspiring Teacher – Classroom Supervisor

Location: Hackney
Pay: £90–£130 per day (weekly PAYE pay)
Contract: Full-time / Flexible / Long-term
Start: ASAP

This Aspiring Teacher – Classroom Supervisor role is a brilliant stepping stone into teaching. You’ll be based in a secondary school, gaining hands‑on experience managing classes, building confidence, and learning what life in the classroom is really like, without planning or marking.

You’ll step into lessons when teachers are absent, keep students on task, and make sure learning continues calmly and confidently.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Supervising secondary classes using pre-set lesson materials
  • Managing behaviour and keeping students focused and engaged
  • Building rapport and setting clear, consistent expectations
  • Supporting students to complete work and stay on track
  • Working closely with teachers, pastoral teams, and SLT

This role is ideal if you are:

  • An aspiring teacher considering PGCE or Schools Direct
  • A graduate with experience working with young people
  • A teaching assistant ready to step up
  • A youth worker, coach, or mentor confident with behaviour
  • If you have a DBS on the update service and are able to get 2 references, the process will be super quick!

You’ll suit this role if you:
