Overview

Psychology Graduate - Aspiring Educational Psychologist - Education and Training - Haywards Heath

This is an outstanding opportunity for an individual with previous SEN experience or a graduate with a keen interest in Special Educational Needs. The role focuses on hands-on experience supporting children with social, emotional, and mental health needs in a primary setting.

Location: Haywards Heath
Contract Type: Long Term Contract, 5 days a week, 8:30 - 15:30

This SEN Learning Support Assistant position is focused on raising attainment for children aged 4-11. You will work in classes of 5-8 students, with some students having a 1:1 staff-to-student ratio.

Responsibilities
  • Assisting students academically and pastorally
  • Working 1:1 or in small groups with students
  • Encouraging the development of social skills and supporting students\' individual needs
  • Attending staff meetings and completing CPD
  • Following safeguarding procedures
  • Maintaining accurate individual student records
  • Participating in team meetings and training programmes as an active member of a team
Requirements
  • An Undergraduate Degree (preferable) and/or previous SEN experience, ideal for Psychology Graduates/Aspiring Educational Psychologist
  • Education in English and Maths, Grade 5 / C and above (desirable)
  • Knowledge or understanding of a range of learning and behavioural needs (SEMH, PRU, Cognitive Behaviours)
