About the Role

Prospero Teaching have exciting opportunities for Art Therapy Tutors to work with young people in the Bridport area. If you have a passion for art and experience supporting learners with additional needs, this could be the perfect role for you.

You'll deliver engaging, creative sessions to young people who may have additional needs such as:

  • SEN (Special Educational Needs)
  • SEMH (Social, Emotional, and Mental Health)
  • Trauma
  • At risk of PEX (Permanent Exclusion)

Your work will make a real difference, helping learners build confidence and develop skills through art-based approaches.

About you
  • At least 1 year of experience in UK schools in roles such as Tutor, Teacher, Cover Supervisor, Teaching Assistant, ELSA, 1:1 support, Art Teacher, Art Therapist, Counsellor and so on.
  • A background in art, art therapy, or related fields
  • Experience working with learners with additional needs
As a Tutor, You Will
  • Plan and deliver tailored art-based sessions to meet individual learning needs
  • Support emotional well-being and encourage positive engagement
  • Work 1:1 or in small groups with learners who may have complex needs
  • Maintain a safe, inclusive, and creative learning environment

Essential & Desirable Qualifications
  • Minimum of 1 year of experience working with young people
To be eligible for this role through Prospero teaching, you must
  • Hold right to work in the UK
  • Hold an enhanced child barred list DBS certificate registered with the online update service or be willing to process a new application
  • Provide references upon request
  • Possess up to date Safeguarding Training (or a willingness to undertake this)
