We have an exciting opportunity for an Area Manager in Paris, France.
The Retail Division at MICHAEL KORS is a continuously growing network of more than 30 Outlets, 80 Lifestyle stores, 100 Concessions / Shop in Shops in 21 European Countries. Our EMEA Retail team is passionate, driven, multicultural and has a wonderful international spirit.
The Area Manager will support the District Manager to meet and exceed retail and wholesale territory plans, implement sales driving strategies, and develop strong relationships with retail partners by training on brand standards in order to achieve sales results and ensure consistency across all doors. Additionally, the Area Manager is responsible for recruiting, training, and developing Store Managers, Shop Managers and Department Specialists in the Michael Kors free‑standing store and shop‑in‑shop environments.
Meet sales goals by working with the District Manager, corporate office, and retail partners on a consistent basis in order to identify and communicate ideas and opportunities to drive sales for the territory.
Analyze sales reports to determine the needs of the business and set business strategies.
Communicate opportunities, including, but not limited to: strategies to drive sales, stock needs, and product needs.
Ensure individual goals (including sales goals) are set for Managers and manage results to ensure peak performance.
Support the development of each Manager’s proposed strategies to drive sales.
Ensure Managers are trained and fluent in all aspects of the business, Michael Kors’ selling and ‘Experience Michael’ service strategies, as well as in-depth knowledge of the product.
Train and develop Managers sales strategies, product knowledge, brand standards, and ‘Experience Michael’ service program to maximum the business.
Train retail partners on sales strategies, product knowledge, and brand standards through various monthly, quarterly, and seasonal training seminars.
Develop clear, consistent, timely, and effective methods of communication with corporate office, District Managers, direct reports, and / or retail partners on a daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly, and seasonal basis via email, phone calls, and in‑person meetings.
Recruit top talent for Store Managers, Shop Managers and Department Specialists roles and create a ‘Talent Pool’ with qualified candidates.
Continually evaluate the performance and development of each Manager and provide constant feedback to ensure positive results.
Ensure personal presentation and grooming standards are professional, reflective of the brand image and adhered to at all times.
Extensive retail experience in a premium / luxury environment
Experience managing multiple department store concessions / shop‑in‑shop locations
Experience managing teams remotely and supporting their development
An Inspiring leader and team player who promotes excellent customer service
Ability to travel up to 80% of the time
Excellent communication, interpersonal and follow‑up skills
Proficiency in Retail Math, KPIs and Microsoft Office
Ability to analyze Sales Plans and reports
