A growing architectural practice in Peterborough is seeking an experienced Architectural Technician to join their expanding team. This role involves developing design solutions, producing construction drawings compliant with UK Building Regulations, and collaborating with various stakeholders. The ideal candidate will have proven industry experience, a relevant qualification in Architectural Technology, and strong knowledge of regulations. The firm offers flexible working hours and opportunities for hybrid work after probation. This is a permanent position.

Overview

A friendly medium sized local Architectural practice based in Peterborough, have exciting new opportunities for an experienced Architectural Technicians/Technologist to join their busy and expanding team! Working on mainly Residential schemes with a core sustainability focus in every project, this is a superb opportunity to join an expanding team at a key period of growth.

Key Responsibilities may include:
  • Understand client briefs and develop suitable design solutions in collaboration with team members.
  • Produce accurate construction drawings compliant with current UK Building Regulations and Standards.
  • Manage the approval process for design details.
  • Create detailed works instructions, material specifications, and schedules of work.
  • Maintain and manage drawing registers.
  • Liaise with installation teams, sub-contractors, clients, and suppliers.
Ideally the right individual will have:
  • proven industry experience working on live projects
  • Relevant qualification (in Architectural Technology).
  • High degree of knowledge in project inception, planning, and contract management.
  • Strong knowledge of UK Building Regulations & Standards.
  • On-site experience.
  • Experience with AutoCAD (2D) 2011 onwards; SketchUp knowledge is an advantage.
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision on construction drawings and building regulation requirements.
  • Strong time management, self-organisation, and administrative efficiency.
  • Good communication skills and product knowledge.
  • A positive attitude and good sense of humour.
  • Driving license and own transport are essential.
