Job summary

A local golf course in Wokingham is seeking an apprentice Golf Greenkeeper to join their team. The role involves working outdoors under diverse weather conditions and physical challenges. Trainees will be guided by experienced Greenkeepers, developing the necessary skills for success in the Greenkeeping industry. Candidates should be prepared for early mornings and have a good fitness level. The apprenticeship lasts for 24 months, with a working week from Monday to Friday.

Job description

Working within a small team Greenkeepers initially and be trained by successful Greenkeepers with many years of experience in varied roles within the Greenkeeping industry. You must be prepared for early mornings and working in all weather conditions. The work is physically challenging, and a good level of fitness will be advantageous.

Working Arrangements

Working Week: Monday- Friday, 5.30am- 2.00pm in the summer, hours will vary in the winter e.g. 7.00am- 3.30pm in the middle of winter. The greenkeepers operate a rota system for course set up on weekends- approx. 4-hours each day
