As an NG Bailey apprentice you will:

  • Train at one of the top performing colleges or training providers in the country.
  • Learn about our award-winning approach to working safely.
  • Work at our offices and visit construction sites.
  • Be prepared for early starts and travel away from home when necessary.
  • Develop great working relationships with some of the industry’s most talented people.
  • Have a strong support network giving you the chance to build your confidence and use your initiative.

You will learn to:

  • Work in a small specialist team undertaking design work for large and small projects.
  • Work for the team lead in your area, producing calculations, drawings and technical reports, and partake in site surveys and assessments.
  • Conduct research into new engineering techniques and practices.
  • Attend internal and client meetings and undertake site and factory visits as necessary.
  • Support the design lead and project teams in all aspects of design work.
  • Undertake the technical review process and identify potential issues and solutions.
  • Understand the cost of projects and support in managing the design costs.
  • Understand building regulations and legislation to ensure the design of a project meets legal compliance.

We are looking for people who:

You will attend a leading Training Provider or College and complete the Level 4 Civil Engineer Senior Technician apprenticeship and regularly attend in-house training and development as part of the programme.

To apply you need:

5 GCSEs (or equivalent) Grade C/4 or above in English, Maths, Science and 2 other subjects. Plus, have achieved (or be predicted to achieve) 2x A Levels grade C (or equivalent such as BTEC Extended Diploma, Level 3 Diploma, Level 3 Advanced Apprenticeship) in STEM subjects.

Please note, to be eligible for an apprenticeship you:

  • Must be able to complete the apprenticeship within the required time, including the End-Point Assessment.
  • Must have a valid and eligible residency status and the right to work in England.
  • Must be ordinarily resident in the UK or its territories for at least 3 years before starting the apprenticeship.
