A local healthcare provider in Shrewsbury seeks a full-time Apprentice Administration Assistant. This role supports the Oncology & Haematology Department, focusing on administrative tasks essential for operations. The position involves working closely with healthcare professionals and requires excellent communication skills and empathy towards patients. The Oncology & Haematology Department at The Royal Shrewsbury Hospital are looking for a full-time Apprentice Administration Assistant to join a team of staff who support the administrative work necessary for the smooth running of the Centre.
The ability to prioritise and structure workload and present a calm and understanding approach at all times is key to this role. Excellent communication skills and the ability to be able to treat patients with empathy, dignity and respect is essential.
Basic computer skills are required. Previous experience of working with the hospital electronic patient administration system is preferred but training will be provided.
You will be given a fixed term employment contract for the period of 18 months. During this time, you will work towards your Level 3 Business Administration Apprenticeship. This role is full time, where you would be expected to complete 6 hours per week study.
The Lingen Davies Centre and O'Connor Haematology Unit care for cancer patients within Outpatient clinics and Day Units delivering chemotherapy, immunotherapy and radiotherapy treatments. You will be working as part of an Administration Team that are caring, friendly and helpful in making a great first impression when patients / visitors arrive in the Departments. The Administration team play a vital role in supporting our Health Professionals to provide the very best care. The Department offers a fully supportive environment to work in with great opportunities to progress.
