Applications Engineer - CNC Mill/Turn — Worcester (with UK travel) | £36,000 - £42,000 + Door-to-Door Pay | OTE circa £50,000 | Permanent

Skilled CNC Programmer looking to step off the shop floor into a technical, customer-facing role? This is your chance to join a leading CNC machine tool manufacturer as an Applications Engineer, using your programming and setting expertise in a completely new direction. If you're confident programming and setting mill/turn machines, enjoy problem-solving, and want to help customers optimise their machining processes, this role offers comprehensive training to develop your career in applications engineering.

What you'll be doing
  • Providing technical support and machining expertise to customers and internal teams
  • Planning and running cutting trials, demonstrations, and technical presentations
  • Delivering customer training sessions on CNC controls and CAM software
  • Representing the company at UK and international exhibitions
  • Responding to technical queries and providing on-site support
  • Working with sales and engineering teams on project handovers
  • Staying current with machining methods, tooling technologies, and measurement systems
  • This is a varied role - you'll be working with some of the most advanced turning machines available, solving real technical challenges, and helping customers get the best from their equipment.
What you need
  • Strong CNC mill/turn programming and setting background
  • Confident with CAD/CAM
  • Experience in subcontract machining or precision engineering
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving ability
  • Level 3 Engineering Apprenticeship (or equivalent)
  • HNC/HND in Mechanical or Manufacturing Engineering is desirable but not essential.
