Agile Research Delivery Team Clinical Manager

Mid and South Essex NHS Foundation Trust (MSE) is part of the NIHR (National Institute for Health and Care Research) Research Delivery Network (RDN) with East of England (EoE) and as an Agile Research Delivery Manager you will be jointly responsible for managing the care pathways of participants, patients, and carers in research studies from a variety of health care settings.

We are looking for an individual to lead a team of multi professionals to deliver National Institute for Health and Care Research (NIHR) Research Delivery Network (RDN) Portfolio studies across varied health and care settings.

If successful, you will support staff in Primary Community and Agile Care settings across the Essex ICB and partner organisations with the development of research.

As team leader / manager you will be responsible for a team of regionallybased, flexible, multi-disciplinary staff who are deployed to support the delivery of NIHR RDN portfolio studies across a range of health and care specialties and settings. This post has a dual function and the post holder will either manage and lead research delivery and/or research support for wider care settings depending upon regional need. This will include (but not limited to) delegation, supervision, provision of education and support, appraisals.

Main duties of the job

If successful, some of your main duties will include:

  • Support the strategic development of the Agile Research Delivery Team alongside senior leadership post holders in the Regional RDN (RRDN).
  • Contribute to national initiatives underpinning the continued development of the RDN and specifically the Agile Research Delivery Team.
  • Contribute to Agile Research Delivery Team aspects of RRDN business planning and management. The post holder will provide operational management and leadership for a team of regionally based, flexible, multi-disciplinary staff who can be deployed to support the delivery of NIHR RDN portfolio studies across a range of health and care specialities and settings.
  • As team manager, the post holder will take management and leadership responsibility for either the research delivery team or research support in wider care settings team.
