Job summary

HCLTech is seeking an Agentic Forward Deployed Engineer to embed with client teams, turning ambiguous business problems into production agents using Python and ADKs. You will own end-to-end delivery of Business Transformation Agents, from concept to deploy and sustain, with a focus on responsible AI and secure integration.

You will lead a small team, mentor three engineers, and drive ROI through single-agent and multi-agent workflows across finance, procurement, onboarding, claims and compliance.

Qualifications

• Strong Python engineering skills with idiomatic, typed, tested and packaged code.
• Hands-on agent building with at least one ADK (Google ADK, LangGraph, CrewAI, OpenAI Agents SDK, AWS Bedrock AgentCore or Microsoft Agent Framework/Semantic Kernel).
• Solid command of agent engineering: prompt/context engineering, caching, RAG/context graphs, tool calling, MCP, multi-agent orchestration.
• Eval-driven development: design evaluation harnesses and measure agent quality, safety and reliability.
• Standards-based integration and DevSecOps: APIs, secure auth, CI/CD, observability and AgentOps.
• Ability to conceptualize a business problem as an agent quickly in customer-embedded settings.
• Client-facing maturity and ability to translate between tech and non-tech stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Conceptualize fast with stakeholders to frame processes as agentic solutions and stand up prototypes within days.
• Design and ship single-agent and multi-agent systems in Python using ADKs with measurable ROI.
• Drive delivery and operational efficiency, reducing cycle times and cost-to-serve.
• Engineer the agent core with prompt/context engineering, memory, tool calls and MCP integration.
• Connect agents into client ecosystems via standards-based APIs and secure authentication.
• Build reusable agent components, skills, tool libraries and templates with guardrails for safety and predictability.
• Prototype and iterate quickly from scaffolding to production-grade code.
• Run eval-driven development with testing harnesses and safety checks before shipping.
• Own AgentOps/DevSecOps: CI/CD, versioning, observability, governance baked in from day one.
• Incorporate production telemetry and feedback into prompts and designs.
• Stay ahead with evolving agent frameworks and field learnings.
