Job summary

HCLTech, a global technology leader, seeks an Agentic Forward Deployed Engineer embedded with a client to transform business processes into autonomous agent systems. You will own end-to-end delivery of agentic solutions, build reusable components, and lead a small team to scale capabilities across engagements.

You will primarily code in Python, leverage multiple ADKs, and ensure governance, security, and responsible AI standards are baked in from day one.

Qualifications

Strong Python engineering; idiomatic, typed, tested and packaged code.
Hands-on agent building with at least one agent development kit.
Solid command of agent engineering: prompt/context engineering, tooling calls, MCP, and multi-agent orchestration.
Eval-driven development: design evaluation harnesses and measure agent quality, safety and reliability.
Standards-based integration and DevSecOps: APIs, secure auth, CI/CD, observability.
Ability to conceptualize a business problem as an agent quickly in ambiguous settings.
Client-facing maturity: translate between technical and non-technical stakeholders; own outcomes.
Experience mentoring or leading small engineering teams.

Responsibilities

Conceptualize fast: embed with stakeholders and frame processes as agentic solutions.
Build Business Transformation Agents: design and ship single- and multi-agent systems in Python.
Own efficiency as the scorecard: drive faster cycles, reduce manual effort, improve accuracy.
Engineer the agent core: prompt/context engineering, memory, tool calls, MCP integration and orchestration.
Integrate to standards: connect agents with secure APIs and authentication.
Make reusability the default: create reusable components, guardrails, templates.
Prototype and iterate quickly: use scaffolding to reach production-grade, well-tested Python.
Run eval-driven development: establish evaluation harnesses and test suites.
Own AgentOps/DevSecOps: CI/CD, observability, and security governance.
Run a continuous feedback loop: incorporate telemetry and client feedback into prompts and design.
Stay ahead of the curve: adopt evolving frameworks and share learnings.
Lead and mentor: guide a lean team of three agent engineers.
