The role

As our Advice Training Consultant, you will be responsible for the scoping, design, delivery and implementation of our advice training to ensure our advisors are equipped to fulfil the requirements of their role and provide good customer outcomes.

You will lead the scoping and design of our advice training offering, using your technical expertise and experience of training and coaching to translate complex technical information into training plans, training material and supporting documents for our advice teams.

As a confident facilitator and experienced coach, you will play a key role in supporting our advice managers and financial advisors through all stages of their competence journey. Your role will involve training our new advisors to attain competence, alongside supporting the advice manager with oversight for advisors reattaining competent advisor status, ultimately providing high quality advice and good customer outcomes.

Responsibilities
  • Design, deliver and evaluate complex technical training and development material and initiatives, at individual and group level in a highly regulated environment for new entrants and upskills
  • Be responsible for assessing the training needs of the financial advice operation; creating the training plans, alongside the development, execution and evaluation of all technical and skills based training and development activity for advisors
  • Develop consistent standards and culture across the business by providing training and development support, including coaching and materials for advisors and advice managers, as well as collaborating across the team and wider business to develop training capability to support the advice and guidance team
  • Build strong relationships with key stakeholders to enable a collaborative approach to agree, challenge and collectively shape training needs across advisers and advice managers
  • Be responsible for supporting how the Training and Competence framework is applied and implemented, ensuring all evidence is robust and high quality with effective action plans implemented to support advisors attaining or reattaining Competent advisor status
Qualifications and experience
  • Experience in designing, delivering and evaluating complex technical training and development material in a regulated environment
  • Experience assessing training needs and creating/implementing training plans for financial advisory teams
  • Ability to translate complex technical information into clear training materials and coaching resources
  • Strong relationship-building skills with stakeholders and cross-functional teams
  • Knowledge of Training and Competence frameworks and ensuring robust evidence and action plans
