Job Overview

We are seeking an experienced and motivated Advanced Practitioner to join the Children and Families Team in Stroud, Gloucestershire. This is an exciting ongoing opportunity offering a competitive hourly rate of £42.00 and flexible hybrid working, with options for both part-time and full-time hours.

As an Advanced Practitioner, you will play a key leadership role in delivering a high-quality, child-centred service that achieves the best possible outcomes for children and young people across Gloucestershire. This role is ideal for someone resilient, driven, and passionate about making a real difference in children’s lives.

You will hold a protected caseload focusing on complex and high-risk cases, while also supporting quality assurance and service improvement within the team. Hybrid working is in place, combining office-based work for visits and essential team collaboration with home working for administrative tasks. Initially, more office presence will support team integration and relationship building. You will be fully equipped with a laptop and smartphone to support agile working.

What You Will Do

Deliver high-quality, child-focused social work services to improve safety, wellbeing, and long-term outcomes for children and families.

Hold and manage a protected caseload of complex and high-risk cases, providing expert oversight and intervention.

Act as a senior practitioner within the team, leading on quality assurance and continuous improvement activities.

Support, mentor, and guide colleagues through performance management, case discussions, and reflective practice.

Coordinate and contribute to multi-agency working, ensuring joined-up and effective service delivery.

Undertake face-to-face visits and direct work with children and families to assess risk, provide support, and drive positive change.

Promote high professional standards and ensure practice aligns with legislation, statutory guidance, and local procedures.
