Job description
Admin Officer

Location: Glasgow Tribunals Centre, 20 York Street, Glasgow G2 8GT

Office Based

Hourly rate: £12.36 per hour increasing to £13.25 after 12 weeks

Working Days/Hours: 37hrs per week. Monday - Friday 9am - 5pm

Contract: This is a temporary position for 19 weeks but due to be extended pending performance and business needs.

Brook Street in partnership with Ministry of Justice has a fantastic opportunity to join their team as an Admin Officer. This is great opportunity to gain valuable exposure/experience working within the Public Sector.

Key Responsibilities
  • Administration & Case Management
  • Prepare and maintain case files, court papers, and hearing materials.
  • Create, update, and verify records on in-house systems.
  • Manage correspondence, filing, post handling, and general office administration.
  • Draft standard letters, reports, and meeting minutes.
  • Organise and support meetings, training sessions, and other group activities.
Court & Tribunal Support
  • Assist in the running of courts and tribunals, including clerking duties.
  • Support judges, legal professionals, and court users with accurate documentation.
  • Schedule hearings, serve court documents, and process orders and results.
  • Handle public, telephone, and written enquiries professionally.
Data & Quality Assurance
  • Check and verify documents, case outcomes, and financial records.
  • Maintain accuracy and compliance with operational procedures and standards.
  • Collect and compile information for reports, returns, and statistics.
Finance & Reporting
  • Process payments, fees, and fines; reconcile accounts and prepare invoices.
  • Produce basic statistical reports and manage jury attendance efficiently.
Teamwork & Continuous Improvement
  • Collaborate in daily team meetings to identify improvements using Lean methods.
  • Contribute to problem-solving, small projects, and local initiatives.
  • Provide occasional support across other HMCTS offices as required.
