About the Role

We are seeking a capable and motivated Administration Officer to join our Public Health Services team based at Wallsend Health Campus. In this role, you will primarily support the Communicable Disease and Environmental Health teams, working alongside Nurses, Environmental Health Officers and Managers in a dynamic and purpose-driven environment.

This position offers meaningful, varied work that contributes directly to the health and wellbeing of our communities. You will collaborate with a wide range of Hunter New England Local Health District services and external partners to support healthy environments, healthy communities and healthy people.

Your day-to-day work will include:
  • Managing busy diaries and coordinating appointments
  • Drafting professional correspondence and preparing reports
  • Phone intake, data entry and triage of notifiable diseases
  • Supporting sensitive processes such as the management of deceased persons
  • Preparing meeting agendas and taking accurate, detailed minutes
  • Supporting data integrity and administrative workflows across both services
  • Being a trusted support person within a multidisciplinary environment
