Overview

We’re looking for a Clerical Assistant to join our Occupational Health team, to support the clinical and therapy teams in delivering a high-quality service. In this role you will be the first point of contact for users of the service. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who is organised, people-focused, IT literate and keen to contribute to a supportive environment.

You will work closely with clinical staff, helping to manage diaries, arrange appointments for clients, prepare paperwork, and provide administrative support for all activities from recruitment to retirement. The role is full time based at Portisfields, reporting to the Office Manager.

Main Responsibilities
  • Providing confidential word processing and typing support, including compiling letters
  • Maintaining records (both digital and paper-based), sorting post, and general administration
  • Managing diaries and booking client appointments
  • Ordering and maintaining stationery, equipment, and supplies
  • Greeting clients and handling telephone enquiries in a professional manner
  • Assisting flexibly across the team and wider unit as needed
  • Provide bespoke support to the clinical teams in areas such as PSS administration and recruitment / health surveillance activities
Skills and Experience Required
  • Confident using Microsoft Office packages (Word, Outlook, Excel)
  • Strong organisational and time management skills
  • Good communication skills and the ability to work well with others
  • Experience of inputting and processing data accurately
  • Experience of working in a confidential environment and awareness of data protection requirements and confidentiality issues surrounding electronic and manual records

Additional Information

This is a full-time position, working between Portisfields in Portishead and your home address. The unit operates between Monday – Friday and the hours of 0800 - 1745. Admin team cover is provided on a rota basis alternating between 0800 - 1600 and 0945 - 1745.

Full training on relevant in-house systems will be provided, and ongoing support is available to help you succeed and grow in the role.

The successful candidate for this role will have the opportunity to work from home whilst also at a secondary work location, which will be a police premises.
