Job summary

Brook Street is recruiting for an Administrative Officer (AO) to support Kingston County Court in Kingston Upon Thames. This full-time, in-office position offers a 3-month contract with a possible extension and a pay rate of £15.59 per hour.

You will prepare papers and documents for hearings, manage records and data entry, handle enquiries, support listings and court processes, and contribute to continuous improvement projects.

Administrative Officer (AO) x1 - Kingston County Court

Location: Kingston Upon Thames

Working Pattern: Monday to Friday - full time in office

Pay Rate: £15.59

Duration Of Contract: 3 Months with possible extension

Level of Clearance Required: Basic DBS

What you'll be doing:
  • Preparing papers, files and court/tribunal documents for hearings, meetings and proceedings
  • Producing standard correspondence (including letters, minutes, notes and reports) following clear guidelines
  • Creating and updating records on an in-house computer system and inputting data accurately
  • Supporting the day-to-day operation of civil and family courts, tribunals and hearings (including checking materials are up to date)
  • Handling enquiries face to face, by phone and in writing, providing helpful customer service
  • Supporting listing, rota management and the checking of files
  • Contacting relevant parties to schedule, serve documents and assist with court processes (including the use of chip and pin)
  • Helping to problem-solve and contribute to small projects using continuous improvement and lean principles
  • Checking and verifying documents, records, accounts, claims and returns against procedures and quality standards
  • Producing basic statistical analysis reports and undertaking straightforward calculations as required
  • Working flexibly across the office and stepping into ad hoc duties within the band when needed
