Job summary

Brook Street in Hertfordshire seeks an Admin Officer to support hearings and everyday court administration. You will manage confidential information, handle inquiries from diverse users, and ensure accurate data entry and documentation.

The role is on-site, 37 hours per week, with 9:00–17:00 pattern and early arrival. You will use standard procedures to maintain service standards and support listing, scheduling, and basic reporting in a busy justice environment.

Admin Officer

Location: Hertfordshire, AL1 3LB

Working Days / Hours: 37hours

Working Pattern: 9:00am-5:00pm - Ushers are required to be on site prior to the start of the working day, typically from 8:45am

Pay Rate: £12.86 per hour

What you'll be doing:

• Manage customer service and administrative tasks to prepare for, facilitate, and support hearings
• Support users and stakeholders via face-to-face, incoming/outgoing telephone, and correspondence in a range of formats
• Use service scripts and knowledge articles to guide people to the right support and services, including users with complex needs
• Follow complaints policies and procedures, responding promptly to prevent escalation and updating systems as required
• Carry out operational support using standard operating procedures to meet performance targets and maintain service standards
• Handle case files with accurate data entry, secure information management, and compliance with retention/data loss protocols
• Assist with jury service tasks including selection, deferral, reassignment, and attendance tracking, plus processing related expenses and court fees
• Support listing and scheduling-helping ensure efficient use of judicial time, urgent responsiveness, and adherence to listing policies
• Contribute to enforcement support, including financial assessments, fine collection assistance, and basic statistical/financial reporting
• Help with health and safety operations under guidance (e.g., PEEPs, facility checks, issue logging, and key/safety governance)
