Job summary

Brook Street is recruiting an admin officer in Blackburn to support Family Court users, helping keep services running smoothly through phone, face-to-face and written communication.

You will undertake admin tasks to prepare for hearings, assist with listing and jury service processes, manage data securely and follow escalation procedures. The role may require travel to other locations on an ad hoc basis; a Basic DBS is required on onboarding.

Responsibilities

  • Undertake admin tasks to prepare for, facilitate and support hearing activity.
  • Provide support to users via phone, face-to-face, and written communication.
  • Signpost users to the right support using scripts and knowledge articles.
  • Follow complaints policies and update OPTIC as required.
  • Handle case files with accurate data entry and secure information handling.
  • Manage jury service admin, including selection, deferral and attendance tracking.
  • Assist listing and scheduling, supporting urgent matters per listing policies.
  • Support enforcement procedures and produce basic statistical/financial reports.
  • Contribute to health and safety activity and governance under supervision.

Admin officer Location: Blackburn Pay rate: £12.86ph Monday-Friday 9am-5pm

We are recruiting for an admin officer, supporting Family Court users and helping keep services running smoothly-through phone, face-to-face and written communication.


What you'll be doing:


  • Undertake administrative tasks to prepare for, facilitate and support hearing activity

  • Provide support to users and stakeholders via face-to-face engagement, incoming/outbound telephone calls, and correspondence in a range of formats

  • Use service scripts and knowledge articles to signpost users to the right support and provide clear, consistent information

  • Follow complaints policies and procedures, responding promptly to prevent escalation and updating OPTIC as required

  • Handle case files with accurate data entry and secure information management, in line with retention and data loss protocols

  • Manage jury service admin, including selection, deferral, reassignment and attendance tracking, plus processing related expenses and court fees

  • Assist with listing and scheduling, supporting judicial time and responding to urgent matters in line with listing policies

  • Support enforcement procedures, including financial assessments, fine collection assistance, and producing basic statistical/financial reports

  • Contribute to health and safety activity, including PEEPs, facility checks, issue logging and key/safety governance under team leader guidance

Additional information:


  • You'll also identify risks relating to HMCTS buildings and inform the Senior Person on Site (SPoS) as required.
