Job description

This is a fantastic opportunity for a general practice Accounts & Tax Manager to join a highly reputable firm of chartered accountants based in Bromley. The firm is looking to appoint a Manager or Senior Manager as part of a clear and well planned growth strategy with genuine potential to progress to Director / Partner in the future. There are very realistic and clearly defined progression prospects on offer making this a rare and exciting opportunity in the Bromley area.

As part of the role you will work closely with the Partners and take ownership of your own client portfolio while also managing a small team. The work is focused on general practice accounts and tax services for a varied client base including sole traders, partnerships and limited companies. The majority of clients are owner managed businesses with turnovers below 10m, although there will also be exposure to larger and more complex businesses.

Key responsibilities
  • Managing your own portfolio of sole traders, partnerships and limited companies
  • Overseeing and reviewing the preparation of statutory accounts, financial statements, corporation tax and personal tax returns
  • Building strong working relationships across the team
  • Acting as a trusted adviser to clients and maintaining regular client contact
  • Ensuring work is delivered accurately, efficiently and on time
  • Working closely with the Partners to support the smooth running and future growth of the practice
  • Opportunity to get involved in business development and marketing activities

This role would suit an ambitious Manager or Senior Manager looking for long term progression within a forward thinking and supportive firm.

Requirements
  • Preferably qualified ACA/ACCA or by experience.
  • 5-10 years experience within an accountancy practice.
  • Experience preparing accounts and tax returns.
  • Experience of QuickBooks, Xero or Sage would be advantageous.

  • £55,000 - £65,000 dependent on experience and background, negotiable.

Required Skills

You will be ACA/ACCA or qualified by experience with at least 3 years experience within practice. You will have worked as Semi Senior or Senior accountant within practice. Experience of Iris and cloud software such as Xero / Quickbooks would be advantageous.
