Accounts Payable Team Lead

We are seeking an experienced and motivated Accounts Payable Team Lead to join our global finance team. In this role, you will lead a team within our Accounts Payable function, driving operational excellence and ensuring the timely and accurate processing of supplier payments. This is a critical role that supports both internal stakeholders and external suppliers, helping to maintain the high standards of service and efficiency that define our organisation.

About the Role

As the Accounts Payable Team Lead, you will be responsible for setting and managing the daily priorities and goals of your team. You will ensure supplier relationships are maintained through timely payments and clear communication, while driving process improvements and system optimisation. Your ability to interpret data and apply KPIs will help guide performance and support continuous improvement across the function.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and support the Accounts Payable team in daily operations and long-term objectives
  • Oversee end-to-end AP processes, ensuring accuracy and adherence to internal controls
  • Ensure timely payment of invoices and strong communication with suppliers
  • Monitor and report on team KPIs, driving performance improvements where needed
  • Optimise the use of AP systems and tools, with a focus on automation
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with internal departments and external vendors
  • Support month-end and year-end close processes related to AP
Qualifications & Experience
  • Proven experience in Accounts Payable, with prior leadership or supervisory responsibilities
  • Strong understanding of AP processes, controls, and best practices
  • Experience with AP automation systems
  • Analytical mindset with the ability to interpret data and implement performance metrics
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
  • High attention to detail and strong organisational skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (especially Excel); ERP experience preferred
