Job description

You have a past record of producing perfect bookkeeping and accounting, working in-house for businesses, now looking for a challenge and opportunity to make a difference with a stable company that looks after its team.

The accounts area of our business has been in need of real efficiency for some time, which has meant that the Managing Director has had to intervene regularly, pushing and prompting the team of two who either lack accountability or skill.

Tasks have been taking too long to get done, receivable payments lack follow up and are out of 30 day terms, there has been excessive time off and the staff need to be told what to do.

We want you to lead our accounts department as the Senior Bookkeeper, into a beautifully organised, well-run machine so that all reporting, reconciliations, payable and receivable functions are accurate and up to date with all States we operate across. You’ll also oversee payroll and have reports ready for external accountants.

You will report to the Managing Director and working with a small team of 2 (PT/FT) assisting.

There will be a need to improve systems and/or people to make sure things get done correctly.

We are a second-generation Australian manufacturer established 30 years ago with 150 staff in Australia and continually growing.

The role could be demanding and challenging, especially in the first 6 months as you get everything in good order, then it should be about maintaining and improving as the business grows.

In return for your great results, you will have the opportunity to work with a leading business in manufacturing while improving systems and developing the team into a high-performing unit.

If this sounds like a role you’d succeed in, please apply now.
