Job description
Overview

As an Accounts Ledger Clerk, you will be responsible for managing the purchase ledger, ensuring timely processing of invoices, supporting cash and banking procedures, and maintaining accurate financial records. Your attention to detail and organisational skills will be essential as you communicate with internal departments and external clients, helping us keep our financial operations running smoothly and efficiently.

Hours of Work: 40 hours per week; Location: Castleford, WF10 5HX

Main Responsibilities
  • Conduct regular debtor meetings with the relevant teams.
  • Chase payments from debtors via various communication methods – Inform of any credit / account holds applied due to non-payment.
  • Investigate debtor days patterns – chase where necessary.
  • Respond to customer e-mails, regarding POD’s, Invoice Requests, Queries.
  • Answer customer telephone calls for queries / resolve or direct where necessary.
  • Review, obtain authorisation and post overhead invoices
  • Check overhead statements and investigate discrepancies.
  • Send weekly manual statements to customers
  • Compile & send reports to customers / internal employee’s
  • Check regular payments are received
Secondary
  • Daily cash banking, bacs report and payment postings. Ensuring all payments received are correct, and posted to the correct accounts.
  • Meat / ingredients purchase ledger booking in & invoice posting, price checking
  • Meat division returns/ back to stocks / credit notes & complete the daily performance report.
  • Ingredients division dispatch confirmation / rebooking / back to stocks/ credit notes.
  • Invoice generation for both divisions.
  • Support coldstore booking in / dispatch note weight entry.
  • Monitoring emails
Requirements
  • Proven experience in an accounts department in similar role
