Job Title: Accounts Assistant

Reports to: Finance Manager

Contract Type: Permanent, Full-time

Hours: 37.5 hours per week (office-based with flexibility)

Role Purpose

The Accounts Assistant (with strong credit control) will provide comprehensive administrative and financial support to the accounts department. This is an excellent opportunity for an organised and proactive individual who has strong attention to detail and a solid foundation in accounting processes.

You will work as part of a collaborative finance team of eight, liaising with colleagues across the wider business and maintaining professional communication with high-value clients.

Key Responsibilities
  • Processing sales invoices, including deposits and balance payments
  • Supplier statement reconciliations
  • Managing credit control administration
  • Chasing outstanding debts directly with clients
  • Reconciling customer accounts and resolving account queries
  • Handling credit card and cheque payments received via phone or post
  • Posting and allocating cash accurately
  • Providing day-to-day administrative support across the finance team
  • Maintaining accurate financial records and general ledger entries
  • Updating and managing the cash book
  • Supporting colleagues within the finance team as required
Person Specification
