The Role

As an Accounts Assistant, you’ll support the day-to-day running of the finance team, helping to ensure accurate and efficient processing of financial transactions. You’ll work closely with internal departments and external suppliers and gain valuable experience across both sales and purchase ledger functions.

Key Responsibilities
  • Process and reconcile bank transactions accurately
  • Raise and code invoices correctly, including expenses
  • Reconcile supplier statements and resolve queries
  • Support the monthly BACS payment run
  • Maintain tidy and up-to-date sales and purchase ledgers
  • Assist managers with chasing and clearing outstanding debts
  • Handle internal and external payment queries
  • Provide general finance and administrative support to the team
Skills & Experience
  • Previous experience in accounts or finance administration
  • Strong attention to detail and excellent organisational skills
  • Confident using Excel and accounting software
  • Proactive, eager to learn, and keen to develop in finance
  • Studying towards AAT (or interested in starting a finance qualification)
