Qualifications

  • Minimum of three (3) years of experience in full-cycle accounting and human resources management.
  • Experience in Health Care Services and Ministry of Health reporting is considered an asset.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of Canadian Statutory regulations and privacy laws (PHIPA & PIPEDA).

HOW YOU WILL MAKE AN IMPACT 🎯
Financial Leadership:
  • Manages all accounting functions, including Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, and General Ledger systems, supervising the Accounting Clerk.
  • Analyzes General Ledger account activity to make recommendations and conclusions for improvement, while managing program-specific budgets to ensure programs remain within approved funding.
  • Performs month and year-end closings, account reconciliations, accruals, and prepares monthly/quarterly financial statements, fiscal reports, and ministry reporting.
  • Responsible for bi-weekly payroll, monthly Team Transfer Payments, and payroll-related payments (Receiver General, Employer Health Tax, RSP, HOOPP).
  • Liaises with external auditors for year-end statements and ensures mandatory reporting to Ontario Health on a quarterly and annual basis.
  • Manages receipts/disbursements and reporting requirements for the Health Services Foundation.
  • Negotiates and manages leases for all clinic locations and prepares annual renewal of the Insurance policy.
Human Resources:
  • Oversees the activities of the Human Resources Supervisor, supporting the onboarding processes, and providing guidance on recruitment and retention initiatives.
  • Oversees HR policies, practices, and compliance, including employee benefits such as HOOPP, and participates in dispute resolution.
  • Monitors and reports on HR activities, vacancies, and overall recruitment and retention efforts.
Information Technology:
  • Manages internal IT consulting, security, and support, serving as the central point of contact for server and computer maintenance, and liaising with external IT personnel.
  • Oversees IT administration, including creation and management of email accounts and groups, tracking capital assets, and maintaining equipment.
Privacy Officer:
  • Supports and implements organizational privacy policies, conducts audits, manages breaches, and provides guidance on privacy matters to protect personal information.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
WHAT YOU WILL BRING 🎓
  • Post-secondary education in Accounting or a related field.
  • CPA designation is considered an asset.
  • Experience in Health Care Services and Ministry of Health reporting is considered an asset.
  • Minimum of three (3) years of experience in full-cycle accounting and human resources management.
  • Proven experience administering a registered pension plan and with network and desktop support.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of practical accounting, Canadian Statutory regulations, privacy laws (PHIPA & PIPEDA), and strong ethics.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, and ability to work well in a consultative, team-oriented environment.Exceptional personal interaction skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to problem solve and conflict resolution skills.
  • Proficiency in the use of computer applications, including MS Office applications.
  • Flexible work hours are required.
